Welcome to 2026 with UK Rust

Happy New Year from all of us at UK Rust. We hope you had a fantastic break and are ready for another year of chaos, creativity and unforgettable wipes.

Today brings a small forced update from Facepunch. It is not a major patch as the developers have only just returned from the holidays, but it does mark the end of the Christmas event for this year. As always, our wipe will take place at the usual time of 7pm GMT. The raid protection poll has now concluded, and the winning option was to apply raid prevention between 01:00 and 10:00. From today, players will notice that they are unable to damage any structures other than their own during this window. To help with visibility, a small bar has been added to the screen just below the equipment belt UI. It features a red and green section with a white marker that moves throughout the day. When the marker is in the red zone, your base is vulnerable. When it’s in the green, your base is protected. Simple, clear, and now live.

The much anticipated Naval update has been pushed back to February. While the delay is disappointing, it is expected to be a major addition to Rust and should bring meaningful changes to gameplay once it arrives.

Facepunch are also releasing their first developer update of the year today. It should include a roundup of Rust’s 2025 development cycle and will likely offer some early hints about what is coming next. A proper roadmap for the year would be great to see, so here is hoping.

We look forward to another brilliant year with the community. Happy New Year, survivors.
