🧭 Getting Started with Rust Monuments
Welcome to the first guide in our Rust monument series! Whether you're fresh off the beach or just starting a new wipe, this walkthrough will help you understand what monuments are, how they work, and what kind of loot you can expect.
Monuments are key locations scattered across the Rust map. They range in difficulty from Tier 0 (easy) to Tier 3 (hard). In this guide, we’re focusing on Tier 0 monuments—the safest and most beginner-friendly places to explore.
🟢 What Makes Tier 0 Monuments Great for Beginners:
• No radiation—no hazmat suit required
• Easy access to basic loot like food, scrap, and components
• Great spots to recycle and grab early-game gear
• No hostile NPCs to worry about
🏚️ Tier 0 Monuments List:
• Abandoned Supermarket
• Oxum’s Gas Station
• Junkyard
• Abandoned Cabins
• Lighthouses
• Mining Outpost
• Supermarket
Let’s start with one of the most popular Tier 0 spots: the Abandoned Supermarket.

🛒 Abandoned Supermarket Guide
Often nicknamed the “Sperm Ket” (thanks to its broken roof sign), the Abandoned Supermarket is a roadside monument found in all biomes. It’s a go-to location for early-game looting, recycling, and grabbing a quick snack.
🔍 What You’ll Find Here:
Barrels: ~5
Crates: ~10
Green Key card: 1 (lootable)
Recycler: Yes
Public Telephone: Yes
Motorcycle or push bike: Yes
🏃♂️ Layout & Loot Tips
The front entrance is a smashed double glass door leading into messy grocery aisles. These aisles contain up to six loot spawns—mostly food crates and basic items.
At the back of the store, you’ll find two doors:
Left Door: Blocked by wood at the start of each wipe. Break it with any melee weapon to access a small room with a Green Key card, a green military crate, and a side exit.
Right Door: Leads to a side entrance and may contain a brown or green military crate. Outside this door, a ladder takes you to the roof, where two more crates can spawn.
🌙 Why It’s Worth Visiting The Abandoned Supermarket is perfect for new players. There’s no radiation, no scientists, and no gear requirements—you can walk in completely naked and still walk out with food, scrap, and a key card.
It’s especially useful early in a wipe when loot is scarce and competition is high. The Green Key card here is easy to grab and opens up access to more advanced monuments later on.
⚠️ Heads up: This is not a safe zone. PvP is common, and even geared players can get caught off guard. Stay alert, move quickly, and don’t linger too long
